NJ to ME and Everything in Between: Flume Gorge

This was another favorite stop of mine on the trip, and it was also a spontaneous one as well. This is the Flume Gorge in the White Mountains National Forest, NH. It's just an amazing sight to see. The walls of the gorge are 70-90 feet high and are only 12-20 feet apart. Stairs and walkways attached to the side of the mountains lead across and next to the raging water. Once you get to the waterfall itself, you can't help but just stand there and look at everything in amazement. It's just so breathtaking and unbelievable you're practically right in the middle of it all. (Picture taken 5/20/11)
