Drawing With Lights

Project 365: May 20, 2011

This was another cool stop on the trip: Bread & Puppet Theater in Glover, NH. It is a politically radical puppet theater, active since the 1960's. The museum is in a huge 2-story barn and is completely overwhelming to see. The puppets are small to over 6-feet tall and cover every single area of the barn. I wanted to look at everything but I didn't know where to start ... I didn't want to miss anything. All the puppets are home made and beautifully done and creative, and each one tells their own story. The theater puts on parades and shows, and I'd love to see them in action. The puppets are also in Across the Universe, directed by Julie Taymor.
