NJ to ME and Everything in Between: Holy Land USA

This is from an abandoned amusement park called Holy Land in Waterbury, CT. Its history is actually pretty interesting. It's located in a neighborhood in CT and seems to be on a side of a mountain with steep hills. It featured recreations of the Garden of Eden, the life and ministry of Jesus, and a huge 56-foot cross. In its peak years in the 1960's and 70's, more than 40,000 people passed through the park yearly. The owner of the park, John Baptist Greco, had plans to improve and expand it but it closed to the public in 1984 after he died. Today it lays in disarray and has been vandalized. There have been failed attempts to restore the park. (Picture taken 5/14/11)
