Reaching for the Sky

One of my favorite things in Spring is when the rhododendron bush blooms.  I look forward to it once the weather starts to get warm and I know they’ll be in full bloom by Memorial Day.  The flowers are just so pretty and the butterflies and bees come to visit, and I just like to be outside in the warm weather, taking pictures of all of Nature’s activity.  This is one of my favorite photos I’ve taken of the rhododendron bush.  When I saw this picture in my head, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make it work.  Maybe I couldn’t get the angle right as I imagined it, or the sun would just glare everything out, or it just wouldn’t be what I saw in my head.  But I have to say, it came out just like I wanted.  I love how tall the trees look and that the flowers are trying hard to be as tall as the trees and the sky.  This photo I eventually would love to frame and hang up.  (Picture taken 5/26/13)
