Great Smokey Mountains National Park

One of my favorite trips was to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park in Tennessee.  I loved everything about that trip and it has inspired other trips just like it.  It also fueled my desire to see every National Park in the United States.  I have no desire to have kids, but if I do for whatever reasons that may lead me to change my mind, I am definitely going to instill a love of nature and the Earth in them.  Their childhood will be filled with camping trips to National and State parks, bonfires, hikes through out of state and local parks, beaches, woods, mountains… anything I can do to show them how beautiful the world really is and how much it needs us to take care of everything.

This picture always takes me back to the Smokies.  So far, that’s my favorite National Park.  We had gone in May, so everything was starting to grow and the rains just made everything so green and fresh.  It was an amazing feeling to be in the middle of something like that and I haven’t really experienced anything quite like it since.

One of my favorite quotes that I always post on Earth Day and truly believe it needs to be remembered and followed.  I know I do my best to follow it in my daily life and every time I visit Mother Nature: “Tale nothing but pictures.  Leave nothing but footprints.  Kill nothing but time.”
