Sharing with everyone the world around me… one day at a time, one picture at a time.
Drawing With Lights

Project 365 2.0: September 20, 2012 | Day 295

This is an old, abandoned snuff factory in Helmetta, NJ.  I read some of the history of the place online and it’s really interesting.  As Helmetta being a neighboring town of my own hometown and having a lot of friends living in Helmetta, this building was a fixture in my childhood.  And I had no idea that it was the largest of its kind in 1925 and employed 400 people.  It was also named to the New Jersey Register of Historic Places on February 1, 1980.  I’ve always wanted to stop and take pictures of this place because it’s very old and creepy looking.  While I did finally manage to stop, I’m not totally sure I like the pictures.  I think they came out alright, but I think I’ll need to make another trip.
