Project 365 2.0: April 15, 2012 | Day 137

I like books. The only problem with them is that it takes me a really long time to read 1 book. And by that time, I've added about 6 or 7 more to my huge "To Read" list. The top book on the pile is called "4,000 Years Under the Sea: The Story of Marine Archaeology" by Philippe Diolé. It was published in 1952 and is the first book written on the subject of undersea archeological exploration. Before this book, there was no literature of marine archaeology. Even if I never read this book, it is very cool to have. The next book in the pile is "King of Fools" by John Parker. It is "the dark truth behind the romantic legend of Edward and Wallis". This is the story of Edward VIII, the king who abandoned his throne in 1936 for the woman he loved. I have a deep interest for England's royalty, especially King Henry VIII and his 6 wives (especially Anne Boleyn, but who doesn't?). His wives and the lives they led fascinate me. Other titles in this pile include: "The Hiker's and Backpacker's Handbook" (a 1971 camping and hiking guidebook), "The Dance of Time: A Miscellany of History and Myth, Religion and Astronomy, Festivals and Feast Days" by Michael Judge, "4,000 Years of Uppity Women: Rebellious Belles, Daring Dames, and Headstrong Heroines Through the Ages" by Vicki León, and a few vegan cookbooks in there. (I love history and marine anything, as you can see.)

That’s a great pile of books! It looks cool too. I like the black and white. There is only one thing missing… some fiction!
